Configuration Guide

In this article you will learn how to configure Exponent with Sage Intacct.

Step: 1. Authorize the Exponent Sender ID in the Sage Intacct Platform Account

1. Enable Web Services
   1. Log into Intacct (must be Admin) and go to Company > Subscriptions
   2. Scroll down to Web Services and click the switch to enable it
2. Add the Exponent Sender ID to your Web Services Configuration.
   1. Go to your Company's Configuration options in the Setup tab
   2. Navigate to the Security Tab
   3. Click on "Edit" at the top right hand corner of the screen
   4. Scroll down to Web Services Authorizations in the Security tab and click "Add"
   5. In the Sender ID box, enter exponentfiMPP and make sure the status is Active

Step 2: Create a Web Service User

Creates a Web Service User to provide the most reliable access to Sage Intacct data.

1. Navigate to Company → Admin → Web Services users
2. Begin adding a new Web Services User by selecting the "Add" button in the top right of the screen.
3. Populate the User Information form with the below detail:

   1. User ID, First name, Last name

      These values are not important but should be remembered for future steps.

   2. Email address

      Use the email address of the person managing the integration. You will have to access the email address in a later step in order to copy the password of the newly created Web Service User.

   3. User type

      Select Business

   4. Admin privileges

      Select Full

4. Go to the “Roles Information” tab and select the “Admin” role so this Web Service User has full permissions through the API.
5. Finish adding the Web Services User by clicking "Save" in the top right of the screen
   1. A warning may appear saying there will be a charge for creating the User. This warning does not apply to this user and can be ignored.
6. If the "Verify your identity" pop-up appears, enter your password
7. At this point, the email address entered will receive a password from Sage Intacct. Use the User ID and Password of the newly created Web Service User to finish the connection flow.

Step 3: Connect your Web Services User to Exponent

Use the new Web Services User you just created to authenticate with Exponent.

1. Navigate to the Accounting menu and click on Sage
2. A popup will appear, click Continue
3. A Sage login page will appear, enter the authentication details of the Web Services User you just created
4. Once authenticated you will be redirected to Exponent.

Your account is now connected and syncing, this will take a bit and we will notify you via email once the sync has completed.
